Hello,
I encounter the problem stated in the subject line of my email.
To start, here is my configuration:
-Amp head: Laney IRT 60H
-Voddo Lab control switcher
-Vodoo Lab Commander
-Rocktron Intellilex LTD (not affected by the problem)
Connections:
Amp head connected to the Control Switcher via the 5-pin DIN cable. Here is the DIN cable diagram.
Pin 1 : Reverb
Pin 2 : Common
Pin 3 : Lead
Pin 4 : Boost
Pin 5 : Clean
Switching by pressing the different buttons (1 to 4) of the Control Switcher works well, the channels of my amp change as desired.
Connection of the Vodoo Lab Commander to the Vodoo Lab Control Switcher:
I go from the MIDI OUT of the Commander to the MIDI IN of the Control Switcher with a 5-pin MIDI cable
, I receive the phantom power from the Control Switcher and the Commander is well powered.
Then I go from MIDI IN of the Control Switcher to MIDI OUT of the Commander with a 3-pin MIDI cable.
Is my connection good?
Setting:
To make sure that nothing disturbs the operation of the Control Switcher, I made a factory setting as indicated in the manual.
I am referring to the instructions given in the Control Switcher manual for use with the Commander.
But, there is no communication between the Control Switcher and the controller.
Thank you for showing me the path to follow.
Sorry for the English translation
Communication problem between the control switcher and the commander
Re: Communication problem between the control switcher and the commander
Welcome to the forum!
I think the only thing I see you would need to change is to remove the MIDI Cable leading back to the Commander. This will create a MIDI Loop that continually sends the messages around and around.
Let us know if that helps.

Re: Communication problem between the control switcher and the commander
I believe i had the same problem, i was using the hex and commander together. The problem i had was that when i was hitting the switches on the commander, nothing happened on the hex. It was because the manual for the hex failed to mention that you need to save your selections by holding down the buttons on the hex corresponding to loops 1 and 6. When i did this, everything was resolved. I cant remember how it lets you know but when you hold down buttons 1 and 6 simultaneously on the hex, i think all the lights flash to say its saved. You can then assign the configuration to the commander by pressing and holding the desired switch/button till it flashes. It then saves and remembers the configuration, even if you turn the commander off and back on again.
Re: Communication problem between the control switcher and the commander
also, what John said. I don't use 2 midi cables to connect hex to commander, just the one
