Pedal Power 4x4 and Cioks DC10 comparison
A few European dealers have asked for a comparison between the Cioks DC10 and Voodoo Lab power supply.
Technical Evaluation: Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 4X4 vs Cioks DC-10

Re: Voltage Input?
You can power the GCX from either 9VAC or 12VDC. A 12V supply is fine if it provides DC, you would NOT want to use a 12V AC supply.nyteowl wrote:I know the GCX comes with a 9VAC power supply. Personally, I wouldn't risk using a 12-volt power supply, but I'll defer to John for the definitive answer.
This is because AC power is specified as RMS voltage. The actual peak voltage is about 1.4 times the RMS voltage. So, using 9VAC we get 12V from the GCX's internal power supply.

Re: Output Splitter Cable Problem
The Loopmaster only uses power to operate LEDs, so there is no connection to audio ground. It won't work with a splitter cable. I haven't tried the T1M, but suspect a similar problem. You need to pick different pedals to combine with the splitter.theryanpaul wrote:I own a PP2+ and need to power 10 pedals.
So I bought 2 cable splitters from you guys and only 1 side of each cable works. The pedals I am trying to use with them are
zvex Box of Rock
T1M Buffer
Loopmaster Looper
Boss DS1 with JHS synth Mod

Wow! You have a vivid imagination.thesjkexperience wrote:I have to wonder if there was a problem with the original design...I suppose the builder could have gone out of business and Voodoo Labs lost a lot of cash due to manufacturer going bankrupt?
We are the manufacturer, right here in beautiful northern California. Everything is fine.
A custom made component was rejected because it was out of spec. We required our supplier to produce new samples to be approved prior to re-making the parts. This caused a delay, but was necessary to meet our quality standards. I expect to start shipping again within 1-2 weeks.

Re: Powering a Hartman Vintage Germanium Fuzz/PP2
The red plug is center positive with a 2.5mm center. You need a 2.1mm center. Assuming it needs center positive, you should get a 5.5x2.1mm reverse polarity cable.edward wrote:OK, so let me bump this with some better info...
I'm using the Fuzz in my pedalboard, and it's powered by the PP2. I'm having issues with the actual power connector pin, and the socket on the Fuzz.
Seems to not be making good barrel contact, so the connection is sporadic, meaning the plug goes in, and seems to be connected, but when I stomp the pedal to engage/disengage, it may or may not work. Then, I get no sound through the remaining downstream pedals, etc.
For the record, I am using the red plug in the PP2 set, but it also happens when using the normal black plug.
If I wiggle the plug, it will make better contact, and the pedal works and the fuzz tone is great, but if I stomp it off, it may not come back on the next time I stomp.
Any insight into this? Is it a PP2 issue or the socket on the Fuzz? Bueller? Anyone?

Re: Mounting power supplies to pedal board
That is fine. We use and recommend 1" wide 3M Dual Lock part# SJ3560. It's a well kept secret, but we sell Dual Lock by the foot. Call us to order.JakeW327 wrote:Hello, I just bought a pedal power 2+ and ISO 5 to power my new pedal board I am building. This may be a silly question but I was wondering if it would be okay to mount the power supplies to the board using velcro, I haven't had the power supplies long and I don't know if they get too hot and I want to be sure I haven't over looked any other reasons why this would be an issue. Any answers greatly appreciated thank you!

Re: Pedal Power Digital and Line 6 pedals
Yes. The Line 6 modelers use a buck regulator, so they will run from 12V or from 9V at higher current.stilwel wrote:The VL website says:
Powers Strymon, Eventide, Line 6 (excludes M9/M13), Boss Twin, TC Electronic Nova and more
Does that mean it will power a DM4/DL4 type pedal...presumably using the 12V output jack?

Re: anybody have the manual for the original pedal power
All 8 outputs of the original Pedal Power are like outs 1-4 on a Pedal Power 2. It didn't have the higher current outs or sag.
