Hi guys im new to this forum. i would like to know how to set up my pedal switcher and commander.

i need help on knowing if you can place a wah or whammy bar pedal through it. and the palcement of my fulltone univibe. i only have the one pedal switcher right now. my ideal setup is to run one set of pedals through the front of the amp. wahs distortions and overdrives. etc. and the other lot into the effects loop of the amp. i will get more pedal switchers. its just a matter of time. i would like some help in placing the order too.

heres a list of pedals i have.

Sonic research tuner
RMC wheels of fire wah
Zvex fuzz factory custom shop edition
HBE UFO
Digitech whammy
banshee talkbox
Fulltone mini deja vibe 2
line 6 jm4 looper
T-rex room mate reverb
mxr carbon copy delay
T.c Nova delay
voodoo labs analog chorus
mod tone clean boost
HBE frost bite flanger
ernie ball volume pedal.

id also like some help with how to use the correct cable ties and things to make my pedal board look neat and organised. i use a t-rex pedal board but it cant fit the pedal power 2 underneath so its a bit annoying.

also i want to know how to control my blackstar series one amp via the midi input coz the channel selector footswitch they give you keeps breaking. if someone could say to me if this is possible then that would be great.

any suggestions would be great as im really trying to make my pedal board set up as neat as possible. also cable choices would be a nice suggestion too.

The order in which you patch your effects is subjective and can be changed at any time. So for now we'll focus on the needed gear.

It looks like you'll need 3 more Pedal Switchers + the Commander. With the Commander, you can store up to 10 Pedal Switcher Loop On/Off combinations as well as send Program Changes 1-10 to your Blackstar to MIDI switch the channels along with your Pedal Switchers.

For even more control I would recommend the Ground Control Pro where you would have more preset locations as well as more MIDI capabilities. You may also want to consider mounting everything in a rack for a cleaner setup, in which I would recommend the GCX Audio Switcher which can work in conjunction with the current Pedal Switcher you now own.

have i wasted my money then getting a pedal switcher and commander? also i would like to keep my delays, wahs, univibes on show. for accseses to making the crazy sounds. but the others i could put in a pedal tray. could you explain how exactly how the ground control pro works. im a bit thick.

also i wanted some explanation of where wahs and all that would go. or doesnt it matter?

I'm not saying you wasted your money. However, was just informing you that if you plan to build a rig of this size that you may want to consider a full featured controller/switcher that will best suit the needs of a rig this size.

The Ground Control Pro can send out 8 different Program Change messages on 8 different MIDI channels upon preset change. It also has the 4 Presets Per Bank mode, which makes buttons 1-8 into "instant access" buttons. With IA buttons you can assign them to individual effects within an effects processor and bypass/unbypass them as if they were stomp boxes. They can also be used to switch GCX loops on/off while the preset buttons can switch different combinations of GCX/Pedal Switcher loops on/off.

The order in which you patch your effects will have a significant effect on the tone. As to which is the "best" way is subjective...it just depends on what kind of sound your after.

However...the "traditional" way of setting things up is usually -

Guitar-->Filter Effects (i.e. Wah, Phase)-->Dynamic Effects (i.e. compressors/overdrives)-->Modulation Effects (i.e. chorus, flange)-->Time Effects (Delays)-->Ambiance Effects (Reverbs)

That should give you a "starting point" but feel free to experiment with the routing/order and see which way you like best. This should give you a fallback point in case your experimentation turns out to be a wasted effort.

Yes but that might prove to be rather inconvenient since you'd have to step on a separate button to engage the wah, then move your foot over to the wah treadle instead of just using the onboard toe switch on the wah itself.
