Just a little confused about outputs 5/6 on Pedal Power 2 +

Post by Msobel » Mon May 08, 2017 7:29 am

So, it's the Regulated/ Unregulated bit when the dip switch is switched away from normal that's stumping me ..

Should I assume my Mad Professor Forest Green Compressor will run at 14.5v when plugged into either the 5 or 6 with the dip switch flipped opposite Normal? or... at 12v Unregulated? could that hurt the pedal, etc. etc.

any explanation of this would be much appreciated --

thanks in advance,

MS

When switched away from Normal, Outputs 5 and 6 are unregulated. This means that the voltage is dependent on the current load. A pedal that draws about 200mA would pull the Voltage down to about 12V.

The Forest Green Compressor draws less than 20mA, so it would see closer to about 16V on one of these outputs. This pedal accepts 9-18V.

Of course, when switched to the Normal position these outputs will be regulated at 9V.

I hope that helps!
