Hey there,

I have an old style GCP (from the DMC era) which is sealed with blind rickets on the back instead of screws. One of the IA switches is dying and hardly responds anymore. I was planning to open the unit to take a look.
I'm no engineer so I don't know how to open it. Any advice on the blind rickets or any other way of handling the problem is much appreciated.

I'm may be wrong, but I always thought the Ground Control Pro was strictly a Voodoo Lab product and DMC only made the original Ground Control, which is an entirely different unit.

In any event, the only way I know of to open up anything fastened with rivets is to drill them out and then use new rivets for reassembly. If you're feeling adventurous, go for it, but if not, I'd suggest contacting Voodoo Lab Customer Support.

We have never used rivets on the Ground Control Pro chassis. On the top should be four 5/64" Hex head screws, and on the bottom should be six #2 Phillips screws.

Feel free to give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com if you would like us to take a look at this for you.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the reply. I had this feeling but I think the previous owner did this. It's been a while but I believe he said it has been updated with a new mainframe. So it's an old casing (DMC) with new inside (Voodoo Lab). But it's sealed with rivets. Think I'll try to drill them out sometime, and maybe replace them with screws.
I live in Europe so shipping would take forever. Guess I prefer to fix it myself (i.e. let someone with skill do it).
