I recently bought a gcx + ground control. Great devices but I have a little problem. While all the other loops work perfect, loop 2 seems not to. When all of my pedals are connected to loop 1, loop 2, loop 3 etc. etc. I won't get a normal sound out of the gcx. When I don't use loop 2, it works fine (see photographs). First I thought that it were the george l cables. Does this happen often? I'm sorry for my grammar and stuff, I'm from Holland.

Does loop 2 pass any signal at all? Did you buy this GCX new or was it a used unit?

Loop 2 doesnt pass any signal, just a loud hum. I tried the outputs of every loop and that worked fine except for loop 2 and 6, what I discoverd later on. And it gets worse. After I bypassed loop 2 and 6, I programmed the gcx with my ground control. That all worked.
But it got worse. The next day (yesterday) I had a gig and deconnected the gcx and the ground control. I wanted to run the gcx and it didn't respond to my ground control anymore.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I think that I bought a broken device and I'm sending it back to the place where I bought it (to answer your question: yes, i bought it new.)

Well I think I know what possibly caused the no response problem after tearing down the rig and re assembling it elsewhere. The Ground Control Pro MIDI Out is a 7-Pin DIN jack and it is possible to force a 5-Pin cable into the 7-Pin jack with the pins misaligned. Be certain to look at where the locator dimple is on the sleeve of the MIDI cable plug when connecting to the Ground Control Pro rather than simply twisting and pushing until it falls in.

As for the audio issues, we can inspect and repair anything that might have gone wrong or you can go ahead with the exchange route through your dealer.

Either way, keep us up on what route you choose and we will get you up and running as you should be!

You are right about the midi cable, I looked at the pins today. The one in the middle didn't look like it should haha so I fixed that and I will be more gentle when I reassemble my stuff back together.

Today I brought the gcx back to the shop where it came from and they will send it to their supplier for further investigation.

The shop contacted the supplier about how it all worked with sending the device back. The owner explained the problem but the supplier knew a solution to fix it. He told the owner to connect loop 1 with loop 6 with a ground wire. It sounded strange to me but I tried it at home. Didn't work. The supplier also told the owner of the shop that the thing with the ground wire was explained in the manual, but we couldn't find it anywhere. So today I'm bringing the gcx back.

I don't know about the fixes you are describing, but it certainly appears that there is indeed something wrong with the unit you have/had. my gcx has been repared. it works fine now. the repair guy didn't left a note whatsoever about what was wrong but I guess that's alright. the next task in life is to find out how my gcx + ground control will work with my tc electronics g-force. wish me luck!
