As a test, using only the the Instant Access buttons for a moment, does the pedal work such that it is active when the Instant Access LED is On and bypassed when the Instant Access LED is Off, or is it reversed?
(If it works correctly for this test then maybe it was just that you didn't get the Instant Access button state programmed with your Ground Control Pro presets?)

No problem if you would rather call while you are with the gear. We are here from 9AM to 6PM Pacific time.

I ended up doing a factory reset on the Eventide pedals and it resold the weird switching issue.

However I have presets working but when I change from one preset to the other they are acting weird. For example I have preset 01 with no effect and preset 02 has effects. When I go from preset 02 to preset 01 it caused my effects to always be on, meaning I must double tap each effect to switch them off. This is happening only with the MIDI based effects not the pedals in the GCX.

Any idea what might be causing this?

If you are wanting the preset to turn off the effects, then you will need to set these Instant Access buttons to "Transmit with Preset".

When you are at the screen where you programmed the MIDI Channel and Control Change to Instant Access buttons 7 and 8 press the Cursor Right button to get to the next screen over. Here the Data +/- buttons select between Normal, Momentary, or XMIT w/ Preset. Select the "Transmit with Preset" setting for the buttons controlling the Eventide pedals effect Active state.

Doing this will give you the ability to program the state of the effects for each preset by doing the following:
1. Recall any Ground Control Pro preset that you want the Eventide pedals to be Active.
2. Activate the Eventide pedals using the Ground Control Pro Instant access button you have assigned to control the Active State.
3. Press and hold the Edit button to enter the Preset Edit mode.
4. Release the Edit button once the screen changes, then press it again to save the preset with the new Instant Access button settings.

Let us know if you get stuck!
