Hey guys, I want to know how to do my rig.

I have a stereo Mesa boogie jp2c rig with 2 Mesa 1x12 cabs

Dunlop rack wah

Voodoo labs gcx and gcp

Strymon time line

And pedals

Here's how I want it laid out

Preset 1
Strymon timeline patch one
Jp2c clean channel
Hyper gravity compressor 1

Optional:
Tc dreamscape 1 set in chorus mode

Preset 2
Strymon timeline patch 2
Mesa jp2c channel 2

Optional:
Tc dreamscape 2 set in crunch chorus mode

Preset 3
Mesa jp2c channel 3
Strymon time line patch 3
Hyper gravity compressor 2

Preset 4
Mesa jp2c channel 3
Strymon patch 4
Hyper gravity compressor 2

Optional select effects
EHX Pog
Tc vortex
Tc helix

How do I do all this / what cables do I need ? Can anyone draw a diagram for me? Does the strymon need to be a part of the gcx loops or is there a way to have it on its own and for it just to switch patches from the gcp?

Also I want the strymon to be stereo as well.

Sorry for the late reply!

Here is a good starting point... http://www.voodoolab.com/gcxdiagrams/09 ... Stereo.pdf

This diagram has Loops 1 and 2 with pedals going to the front of the amps. Loops 5 and 6 are being used to turn the amps on and off (but I suspect you probably won't do this). Loops 3 and 4 together with Loops 7 and 8 are routed thru the FX Loops of the amps for stereo effects.

How many effects will be in front of your amps and are they all Mono? How many effects will be in the FX Loops of the amps and do they all have Stereo Inputs and Outputs?

Sorry just saw this.
4 in fx loop 3 in front and no I shouldn't have to use them to turn amps on and off. I'm essentially doing a pedal version of John petrucci rig. I shouldn't have to use the gcx for anything other than pedal switching cause the amps and the boss dd500 are midi

And all 4 of the pedals for in the effects loop have stereo inputs. They're all tc pedals. 2 dream scalped, helix, and vortex.

I think you may want to look into having your GCX modified to have loops 5-8 converted to full stereo, otherwise you won't have enough loops to do this rig. Feel free to give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com for current pricing and availability.

With that in mind you would likely use loops 1-3 for your front end effects and Stereo loops 5-8 for your four stereo TC pedals. I suppose you will also want your TimeLine and DD-500 patched in the effects loops, but you can patch these directly into the signal path after the last GCX loop.

I think this should be pretty close to what you are looking for. This shows the rig using a GCX that has the Stereo Mod added installed on Loops 5-8. The cables marked with a * are Insert Cables with one TRS stereo end that breaks out to two TS Mono ends. The cables marked with a * are TRS Stereo patch cables. All the remaining cables are standard mono Instrument Cable.

Your guitar signal will hit the three front end effects in Loops 1-3 then go to the GCX Guitar In buffer. The buffer will give you an easy way to split the signal to drive the front end of both heads.
The Effects Send of each amp will then hit the four stereo TC pedals in Stereo Loops 5-8. From there the FX Loop signal will hit the two Stereo Delays before returning to the amps.

Should be a killer nano-stadium rig!

Let us know if you have any questions on how to get this all hooked up!
