Just purchased and set up a new PX-8 Plus.

Just one question that I can’t seem to find the answer to anywhere…

In addition to using the preset mode to set various combinations of effects pedals in the loops, I am also controlling a Korg SDD-3000 pedal with it via MIDI. What I want to do is call up preset programs in the Korg to go with the pedals all with the push of one button on the PS-8.

Problem is I can only seem to get the MIDI program change commands sent by the PS-8 to correspond sequentially to the presets on the SDD-3000.
In other words…

1A on the PX-8 = 1A on the SDD
1B = 1B
1C = 2A
1d = 2B

And so on.

What would like to do is something like…

1A on PX-8 can = 5A on the SDD
1B = also 5A
1C = 7B
1D = also 7B

And so on…

I don’t know if I am doing something wrong (this is my first foray in to MIDI) or if what I want Is impossible.

I use the same delay sounds on a bunch of different presets on the PX-8 so it seems a waste to have a corresponding separate preset on the Korg. Also, the SDD-300 is already programmed with a whole lot of custom settings so I would love to avoid retrofitting everything.

Anyway, I hope this makes sense. Please advise.

The Program Changes are fixed and cannot be re-programmed. You would need to map the sounds you want on the SDD-3000 to the patches the PX-8 Plus recalls.

Alternatively, you could use something like the MIDI Solutions Event Processor to convert the message sent by the PX-8 Plus to whatever message you like.

I hope this helps!

Hi!

I've the same question. I need to switch some presets on my Strymon Timeline and my Mobius. I have to operate manually on both pedals, mapping presets in the sequential way I need, right?

For example, I can't recall on PX8 plus Bank1, preset 1
Bank 23A Timeline, Bank 02B Mobius...

Thanks in advance

The PX-8 Plus presets will recall the Strymon presets sequentially starting with 00A on the Strymon pedals.
PX-8 Plus Bank 1 Preset A will recall Strymon Bank 00 Preset A.
PX-8 Plus Bank 1 Preset D will recall Strymon Bank 01 Preset B.

You will need to move the Strymon presets around to match the preset locations the PX-8 Plus will recall.

I hope that helps!
