Hello,
Please, can you advise me on the best way to make the MIDI conections in my setup?

I have:
1 GCP
3 GCX
4 MIDI pedals (2 of them only have MIDI IN... they don't have MIDI THRU)

With this setup i think it is going to be impossible avoid the use of a MIDI THRU box (because there is a lot of equipment and 2 of them only have MIDI IN... so it is impossible to daisy chain all).

What i'd like to know is the correct way to use the MIDI THRU BOX.

GCP -> GCX1 -> GCX2 -> GCX3 -> MIDI BOX (4 ports maybe) -> MIDI PEDALS

In this scenario, the GCP and the 3 GCX are daisy chained.
The MIDI PEDALS are connected to the MIDI BOX.

Or maybe:

GCP -> MIDI BOX (8 ports maybe) -> ALL Other devices (GCXs and PEDALs).

I also want to know if the MIDI OUTPUT of the GCP or GCX are "powered'.
Because there are PASSIVE and ATIVE midi boxes.
The passive only work with devices with "powered" MIDI OUTPUT.

I want to power the GCP with the GCX too!

Thanks a lot!

1. I would go with the first setup with the Thru Box routed after the last GCX.

2. The MIDI Out signal of a GCX will drive a passive Thru Box, no problem!

I hope that helps!
