Hi all,

From my reading here I get the impression that the GCX provides power to the GCP, Control switcher e.t.c. So, if I am touring in different countries all I need is the appropriate 9V 1mA (AC or DC either polarity) power adapter with the four pin DIN plug for the country I am in, I dont need to modify the units themselves in any way and I can basically use my rig anywhere- its just the wall wart that has to change.

Am I right?

I am deciding between the GigRig and GCP/GCX for my switching system (two totally different concepts, so its a big decision). The VL system is more clearly more flexible and future proof but the GigRig is pretty good too, plus its auto sensing power supply can be used anywhere and it also handles MIDI switching...

So, about that power supply...?

The GCX requires 9VAC... any power supply that is appropriate for the local region you are in that outputs 9VAC @ (around) 1000mA should be fine.
