Hello, the new guy here. I’ve recently been doing research into the Ground Control Pro and up to four GCX Audio Switchers in consideration for updating my rig. I have had lots of my questions answered reading these forums but have a few that I haven’t come across as of yet. I apologize if they are repeat questions that are farther back in the forum history than I read, or were worded in a way so that my searches did not reveal them to me.

1. In the 4bank/instant access mode, can you assign what loop each instant access switch will control? Across all 4 GCX units so that I can pick exactly which pedals to have instant access to? And if you change to another bank of presets, will the instant access choices change as well or just the 4 presets?
2. The GCP User Manual says any passive expression pedal can be used. I’m using a Dunlop Crybaby 535Q which I power with a 9volt battery. Since it’s not passive will it not work with the GCP? I realize it’s an easy workaround but I am just curious.
3. On page 12 of the GCX User Manual, it states that If your Ground Control has the optional expanded memory, you can control up to four GCX Guitar Audio Switchers to provide 32 audio loops and switches. Can I safely assume that the only Ground Control Pro offered at my local store contains the optional expanded memory? I don’t want to spend that kind of money and get the wrong thing.
4. Are there any plans for updated versions of this equipment coming soon?

You can program the IA switches to control any one of the multiple GCX's loops.
The IA programming is global, and can not be programmed per bank.


The GCP is designed to use any passive Volume pedal as an expression pedal. The Crybaby 535Q is a Wah pedal and will not work as an expression pedal unless it is modified to no longer be a wah.


I believe that all new GCP units have the expanded memory.


That's another whole "can-o-worms". Yes there is supposed to be updates, but there is no comitted date range when and if this will happen.

Glad I could help. The GCP/GCX system is a breeze to setup and edit on the fly, allowing freedom to change things on the spot without needing a PC editor, and you get to use effects you already have! The GCX can even be modified from the factory for stereo operation.
