Following the instruction of an old mail from VL (Ellis),

I'm using now two GCP with 2 GCX.

CHAIN : GCP (old, 1.02 version) MIDI out to GCP (new) MIDI IN and MIDI OUT to GCX 1 - 2.

Ok

I programmed Instant Access Footswitch on both unit to have a full IA capacity (each 16 loops for 16 IA footswitches).

I created a scene on the NEW GCP (MAIN). F ex. loop 1/1 + loop 5/2 and 6/2. If one of the loop (loop 1/1 f.ex) is programmed as IA footswitch 1 on the new GCP, i see it and can switch on/off..

BUT

If it's programmed on the GCP 1, i doesn't light on. More, i need to push on the footswitch two times to see it. And when i change the scene (loop 1/1 off f.ex.), it still display on the first GCP.

Could you help me ? Maybe i had to use only the first GCP (old ones) as MAIN, even for the scene and the new one, for more IA ?

Andy

Hi Andy,

I'm pretty sure I know what's going on, but want to clarify something: by GCP "Old (1.02 version) do you mean an original DMC Ground Control?

In any event, looking at the MIDI signal chain as described above, your "Old GCP" is only configured to send outgoing MIDI information; there is no incoming MIDI connection, so nothing is going to happen on the "Old GCP" when using an IA button on the "New GCP." That's why I asked if the "Old GCP" was an original DMC unit, as they have no MIDI In jack, only a 7-pin MIDI Out.

Here is the answer of GCX support :

"Since all MIDI information is being sent in only one direction:

GCP1 > GCP2 > GCX1 > GCX2

GCP1 will never know (or respond) when buttons are pressed on the second GCP2. This cannot be changed."

NOW i've find the solution and it works and could be useful for forum users.

I'm using the GCP 1 (old) as main for scene select and the second GCP (new one) for IA and in the midi setup (in the link mode) it's set on "slave". Now i've got my 4 scenes selections on the 1st GCP and 16 IA !
GREAT UNITS !!!
