Is it possible to use the amp channel switching thru a gcx loop by using one of the preset switches (in 4 preset mode) but not take up any instant access switches?

All the GCX loops can be controlled by the presets, and the Instant Access buttons can be programmed to send any Control Change you want.
Look to the Controlling the GCX Guitar Audio Switcher section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Edit Mode for more info on incorporating your GCX loops with the presets.
Look to the Instant Access section of the Ground Control Pro manual under Setup Mode for more info on programming the Instant access buttons.
