Hi there,

new member here, already with a question! I searched the board and found some threads about using the GCP with multiple rigs, but somehow it does not seem to work for me.

I have a GCX and GCP that I bought some years ago and used happily ever since. The GCX is the heart of my pedal switching rack using 8 pedals. I have 4 presets on the GCP and 8 IA buttons assigned to the 8 Loops in the GCX.

This system has worked flawlessly for years.

Recently I bought an Eleven Rack and really like it. I am able to control the Eleven Rack with the GCP if I assign 4 patches to the 4 presets.

For the IA I programmed the GCP to control the fx of the 11Rack or amp functions using CC messages. This also works great. But now GCP IA are somehow not working with the GCX anymore. The 11Rack is on Midi channel 6.

So my question is:

Can you only assign the IAs to either CC or GCX Loops? So I would need to reprogramm the GCP each time I would like to use it with the GCX or the 11Rack?

This would be a real bummer. Could the GCX be programmed to react to the same CC as the 11Rack?

The FX and functions on the 11Rack are assigned to specific midi CC #.

Maybe I have not quite understood the whole GCP system.

Any help would be appreciated.

Another thing:

I have the GCP on a pedal train. When I use the GCX with the GCP the Power for the GCP is transmitted via the 5pin Midi cable. With the 11Rack one needs a dedicated PS (9VAC or DC). Is there a Voodoo Lab Powersupply out there that might be attached to the Pedaltrain giving power to my Wah, a Nobels M4 and a Strobostomp (both need 9V DC) AND the GCP?

The GCP needs some 0.5A so I think the Pedal+ would be out of the equation?

Thanks again from Germany,

Dote

If you haven't seen this thread yet...

...you should check it out. It explains how you can upload an Eleven Rack w/Expansion Pack memory dump to your GCP, which would be an excellent starting point for what you are trying to accomplish.

Worst case scenario, you could do a memory dump of your existing GCX settings. Then, depending on how you want to use your GCX, you could just load the appropriate configuration and be good to go. Better to spend five minutes swapping memory dumps on your GCPro than reprogramming it each time.

HI nyteowl,

thanks for the hint. So I guess the GCP can only either send CC or Loop changes then. I will try the solution as pointed out by you.

Thanks again,

Dote

Yea, in this case memory dumps are really the only way to go. The GCX and the Eleven Rack have the Control Change messages they respond to hard coded.

Good Luck!
