I'm completely new to midi on my pedalboard. Can the px8 plus control my strymon pedals? Any assistance or explanation would be greatly appreciated. Please forgive my ignorance!

Also, does anyone know when the px8 plus manual will be available?

We will get the manual up as soon as we get it written! Sorry for the wait!

The PX-8 Plus presets will each send a MIDI Program Change on MIDI Channel 1. You can chain this thru to all your MIDI devices and map their sounds to suit the current preset.

For instance, pressing PX-8 Plus Preset 1 in Bank 1 will recall Preset A Bank 0 on the Strymon pedals. You would save the sounds you want recalled to Preset A Bank 0 on your pedals.

Connections would be MIDI Out of the PX-8 Plus to the MIDI In of the first Strymon Pedal, then MIDI Thru from the first Strymon Pedal tot eh MIDI In of the next one. *You will have to set the MIDI Out to be a MIDI Thru on the first Strymon pedal.

I hope that helps!

Thanks John, that helps. Can't wait to get it set up... I guess my only other question would be how the Switchers 36 presets coincide with the strymon presets. Will preset 1 in bank 1 always trigger bank 0 preset A? And preset 2 in bank 1 trigger bank 0 preset B, ect... Thanks again for all the help!

The Program Changes are hard coded sequentially to the PX-8 Plus presets, so yes, Preset 1 in Bank 1 will always send Program Change 01, Preset 2 will send Program Change 02... Preset 36 will send Program Change 36.

The Strymon pedals have a Bank number and a Preset A or B. They are also hard coded to respond sequentially starting with Bank 0 Preset A responding to Program Change 01, Bank 0 Preset B to Program Change 02... Bank 17 Preset B to Program Change 36.

I hope that helps!

Just another question about the px8 plus. How do you restore it to its factory presets? Thanks again for all the help!

No problemo!

Factory restore is done as follows:

1. Hold down buttons 2 and 3 while powering up the PX-8 Plus. All LEDs will flash repeatedly.
2. Release buttons 2 and 3.
3. PX-8 Plus will now do a button LED test, press each button as it lights the associated LED.
4. After the last button, wait for all LEDs to begin flashing again then remove power.

I hope that helps!
