I have the same issue with my ISO 5. If I get my Analogman DS-1 Pro, Cali76 CD, my TCE PolyTune or any Mogami cables anywhere close to the ISO 5, my signal goes right down the toilet (EMI sucks most of the signal to ground).
Not trashing Voodoo here, (I've used and been very happy with the Pedal Power 2 Plus for years) but with the 9 pedals I have, and their high current requirements, plus the new EMI I've discovered by adding the ISO 5 to the PP2+, I'm probably going to look for a different solution. The effect of the EMI is so severe that I struggle to understand why it passed basic testing and was put into production.
Again, Voodoo makes some great stuff - I'll probably be buried with my sparkle drive - but the power supply situation I have, such as it is, warrants an update. I need more than one or two high current outputs and don't want to sacrifice outlets to jumper two together to get it.
Still a Voodoo Labs fan, will still use their products, just not for power supply.
Sorry to hear you too are having troubles. We certainly would love the chance to check your ISO-5 out. Feel free to give us a call or write to
info@voodoolab.com so we can arrange a return.
That said, the noise the OP was experiencing was a loud buzz, but you what you describe as "sucks most of the signal to ground" I would interpret as you are getting an overall signal level drop rather than a loud buzz.
p.s. If it is a buzz, and you are hearing it even with just cables close to the unit, I would first check that the shield connections on your cables are sound.
