TWO? Power supplies

Post by stingray » Tue Feb 28, 2017 5:03 pm

I have a large pedal board that I am hoping to power with two power supplies.
I have a Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2 Plus and the Walrus Audio Phoenix.
My question is this:
Can I plug one power supply into the courtesy outlet of another?
I know that the courtesy outlet of the PP2 has a 200w maximum. The manuel for the Phoenix says that you should not plug anything "rated over 200Amps into the 120V courtesy power input." I can't seem to find the amp draw of either power supply online.
I'm hardly an electrician.

200Amps!?! That cannot be right... A typical residential wall outlet is rated for up to 15 Amps. Commercial wall outlets are commonly increased to allow up to 20 Amps. 200 Amps would be the service entering a building and certainly would never be on a common wall outlet type jack. That must be a typo in the manual.

That said, I am confidant that you can power either power supply from the Mains AC Outlet of the other one. ;)

With the front panel outputs fully loaded, neither one is going to consume more than 20 Watts. I will bet that the manual intended to say "200 Watts".

I hope that helps!
