PP2+ Can I run this chain? Unsure of SolidgoldFX Electroman

Post by Cabot D Amapolas » Wed Jan 11, 2017 7:39 am

Using PP2+
Here's my current situation:

1. Dunlop Crybaby Wah
2. DOD Overdrive / Preamp 250
3. MXR Phase 90
4. Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone Compressor ( SET "AWAY" FROM NORMAL )
-
5. TC Electronics Flashback X4 Delay
6. SolidGoldFX Electroman Delay (????)
-
7. TC Electronics Polytune 2
8. ZVEX Fuzz Factory

----

I have two questions:

The Electroman's manual says:

Current Draw: Approx. 25mA
9V DC Input: This pedal uses a negative ground, 9V DC power supply.

I initially hooked the pedal up from output 1 of the PP2+ but it would not power on! Should I plug it into output 6?

My second question is:

Can I combine any of these pedals into one output using a "Voodoo Y-split", so I can open up more free outputs for more pedals? I read about a guy using Y-split cables to really max out the usage of his PP2+. Is the cable he's referring to the Voltage doubling cable? (http://www.voodoolab.com/shop/index.php?cPath=22_24_32) Or something different?

Thank you!

Your suggested setup should be fine.

At only 25mA the Electroman should be able to be powered from any output on the Pedal Power 2+ with the corresponding DIP switch set to Normal. Not sure why it wouldn't have worked... were all audio cables connected to it at the time?

If you want to double up lower current draw pedals on one output you would use an Output Splitter Adapter (the one with the White stripe at the bottom of the page). Alternatively, if just adding one more pedal you could use the power outlet on your Polytune 2.

I hope that helps!
