Can I power two Strymons with the output splitter adapter?

Post by HeavyLid » Wed Dec 14, 2016 8:28 am

I'm downsizing my board a bit and trying to go from two PP2s to one. Alas, I'm left with nine total pedals. Here's the signal chain:

Boss TU-2
MXR Micro Amp
Z.Vex Box of Rock
Strymon Ola
MXR Carbon Copy
Strymon El Capistan
Empress Tremolo
Line 6 DL4
Boss RV-6

My predicament, obviously, is that three pedals require access to outlets 5 or 6. I'd like to avoid using the courtesy outlet as it's hard to access with my Pedaltrain. Assuming I'd need to keep the Line 6 plugged into its own outlet, can I use the output splitter adapter to power the El Capistan and the Ola? Or is the splitter only able to power two pedals requiring lower power pedals?

Thanks,

HeavyLid

You would not be able to combine any of your higher current pedals to one output. The Strymon pedals each require 250mA. You would either need to use the Courtesy Outlet or trade to a Pedal Power 4x4.

For reaching the Courtesy Outlet on a Pedaltrain board you can use on of those grey ground adapters as a sort of spacer to reach thru the board rails.

I hope this helps!
