can i split an 18V tap into two 9V outputs

from what i can tell the output splitter makes 1 9VDC out into 2 9VDC outs (pedals are powered in series with a ground lift?)
are parralel (votlage halving) cables available or do i have to DIY them?

There is no cable available that will halve the voltage of an output.

What is the gear you are using here?

in the spirit of full disclosure, i have been doing my due dilligence on power supplies, and this question was to make my decision between the pedal power 2+ and the dunlop-CAE MC-430 power system.

these being the two clear leaders out of the entire spectrum of pedal power supplies after much research (seriously, spreadsheet and everything....i have a lot of time on the PC at work :) ), i had to decide which fit my needs best. i run a lot of pedals, so the abundance of outputs on the CAE system appealed to me immediately. however, to fit mxr/dunlop/CAE's product line, a disproportionate ammount of the outs are 18V. well, whats the point of having all those outs if i can only use half of them?

funny thing is, even before making my decision, i graphed out all of the special cables i would have to order for the PP2+ to work and the CAE, and they totalled out at exactly the same. go figure.

so today i made my decision, which was my first instinct to begin with. tonight, i am going to purchase a voodoo labs pedal power 2 plus. all of the supplies i looked at claimed to be the most versatile, blah blah. the pp2+ actually is. so, great work VL!!!

for posterity, my erquirements (not necessarily in correct signal path or proximity order):

big muff ~4.5mA/9VDC/battery connector
korg pitchblack~35mA/9VDC (has a 200mA 9VDC out, need 500mA in to run supposedly, but id prefer everything isolated as best as possible with the ground lift Y cables)
zvex fuzz factory~3mA/9VDC
BYOC screamer~6mA/9VDC
EHX soul preacher~34mA/9VDC
line 6 FM4~185mA/9VDC/reversed polarity
EHX killswitch
~3mA/9VDC
Voodoo Labs tremolo<50mA/9VDC
Boss RC20 looper~85mA/9VDC
BYOC lazy sprocket (slow gear clone)~4/9VDC

deluxe memory man~41mA/24VDC/center positive
MXR 10-band EQ~10(?)mA/18VDC
MXR micro amp~7mA/9VDC

may not use 1 or 2, may add 1 or 2.
