Hi, and Happy New Year !

So I ordered my own PP2plus for my board (Thanks to the folks at Voodoo for helping out). Now I am helping out another guitar player friend of mine figure out what is needed.

The board will be a Pedaltrain pro and it is quite possible that two PP2plus might be needed. Can two of these be mounted on a Pedaltrain Pro ?

Here is a list of effects, if someone (Rez? or??) help out that would be great so we can buy in confidence.

Guitar --> Buffer (T1m mini buffer), might go after Cry Baby, not sure where its going at the moment, but its 9v low Ma.
Dunlop Cry Baby -->
Boss TU-12 Tuner -->
Diamond Compressor -->
Boss OD-1 Overdrive -->
Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive -->
Boss Distortion OS2 >
Boss OC-2 Octaver -->
Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble -->
Mutron III (will have to use courtesy outlet as it is hardwired with a cord, is this compatible?)
->
Digitech T7-->
Roland Space Echo-->
Flashback Delay -->
Hall of Fame Reverb -->
GE-7 Graphic EQ (not sure where in the chain this will go, so I just put it last)
--> Amp

If you guys can help sort this out and let us know what is needed powerwise, that would be great. if we can use the two in one cable for some of these to save some power ports, there is no objection to this.

Thanks in advance. Without your help, I would probably be still trying to figure my own board out.

In theory there's enough room under the PedalTrain Pro for up to 4 PP2+ units. I have 2 plus a PPAC mounted under mine and still have room for 1 more if needed.

Thank you for the input. I am aware of what I can fit underneath. I am hoping someone at Voodoo can help me figure out what my power requirements are so we know what to buy. Thanks again!

Buffer (T1m mini buffer),9v low mA.
To power your Buffer use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Dunlop Cry Baby
To power your Cry Baby (95Q) use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Boss TU-12 Tuner
To power your TU-2 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Diamond Compressor
To power your Diamond Compressor at 24VDC use a voltage doubler cable (part# PPY $6.00ea.) in any 2 of Pedal Power 2 Plus outputs 1-4 with their DIP switches set AWAY from NORMAL.

Boss OD-1 Overdrive
To power your OD-1 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive
To power your SD-1 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Boss Distortion OS2
To power your OS-2 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Boss OC-2 Octaver
To power your OC-2 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Boss CE-5 Chorus Ensemble
To power your OS-2 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Mutron III
To power your Mu-Tron III use any 2 Pedal Power 2 Plus outputs, DIP switches set NORMAL and a voltage doubler cable (part# PPY $6.00ea.). Also, the original Mu-Tron III had an unusual 3-Pin power jack. To power the original model use 2 battery snap cables in any 2 outputs DIP switches NORMAL. Or, use the AC courtesy outlet with the Mu-Tron III power adapter.

Digitech T7
Having trouble finding this one. Does it have a more complete name.

Roland Space Echo
To power your RE-20 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Flashback Delay
To power your TC Flashback use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

Hall of Fame Reverb
To power your TC Hall of Fame use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

GE-7 Graphic EQ
To power your GE-7 use any Pedal Power 2 Plus output, DIP switch set NORMAL with one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.

;)

Ben
Thanks for ther response. I will get more info on the Digitech , I am not familiar with it.

The Mutron is an original mutron and it appears that it can only be powered via its hardwired electrical cord, which I believe would have to use the courtesy outlet. Doesn't seem to have a battery compartment (the unit us huge!).

Can I use a Y cable on a voltage doubler cable (taking two ports to make 18v and then sharing it between two effects?).

Using Y cables, do you believe there is enough power on one PP2+ to power all these effects? or are we asking for trouble using all Y cables? If one unit could do it all that would be awesome, but if not, then what solution would you recommend?

Thank you for your replies, they are very helpful.

Al

For this many pedals I would not use Output Splitter Adapters. I recommend using a second power supply. Also, using an 18V adapter and an output splitter can work, assuming the combine current draw of the pedals does not exceed the current capacity of either 9V output being used.

The original Musitronics Mu Tron III's don't actually run on 18v. They run on 9v+ 9v-. You'd need a 3 pin plug and adapter to make it work. I've heard an XLR will work. I have an original Mu Tron III I just got and was going to get the Lingenberg cable but think with the plug I have on my power supply(new from Lingenberg) and the PPY cable I can make my own.

I'd personally go with two PP2+ units. I have two on my pt-pro board and for my needs they fit in quite well. Need to think about potential expandability down the track if you acquire any more pedals. Most of your pedals look like 9V with low mA, so at least one PP2+ will be handy. As for the second, you could get another PP2+ or a 4x4 if you envisioned some high current pedals down the track.
