Sup all. Have a pp2+, wondering how modest the rating of the 5 and 6 outputs are ma wise(250ma). I have a midi thru box with a 9v 300ma power requirement and I'm wondering if the pp2+ will power it.

First of all is it DC or AC that the midi thru box requires? If its DC and you have a PP2+ DCthen you can use one of the Current Doubler Cables from T-Rex which combine current from two outputs to one. Adding 5 + 4 = 350mA which should be fine for your 300mA requirement. http://www.t-rex-engineering.com/Defaul ... ID=PROD172

Thanks a bunch. Yes, it is dc. The prob with that cable is it's the wrong size. The plug the midi thru box takes is like the line6 plug size(red cable that came with the pp2+)....

Okay so you need the 2.5mm barrel connector then. If your electrically inclined its an easy mod ( to change the connectors over). Alternatively you could run the adaptor from the Courtesey Output of the Pedal Power. T-Rex may modify the cable for you too.

The rating of the supplied power adapter doesn't tell you the actual power requirement. Without looking inside, I would guess this 3x8 thru box works fine with 8-12VDC and less than 150mA. Use outs 5 or 6 with the DIP switch in the normal (9V) position. Make sure you get the polarity correct. It is probably center positive, reverse polarity compared to guitar pedal effects.

Thanks. Appreciate it Josh, the actual adapter is 500mv.....it says in the manual that it needs 300mv minimum. Right now I'm just using the adapter in the back of the rack to power it.

I assume you mean mA (milliamp) and not mV (millivolt). I can assure you that the actual current is no where near 300mA. It looks surprisingly similar to a 2x8 MIDI thru box design I did in the '80s. Mine also had 3 position slide switches, but the 3rd position was off. Same LEDs blinking with activity. I sold quite a few of them at the time, so perhaps it was an inspiration!

I can't make out the polarity in your picture, but assuming the standard Boss size barrels don't fit and center positive, then the red Line6 cable will be correct. Boss are 2.1mm center pin and the red ones are 2.5mm. Now go plug it in and tell us that it works.

Yes it's center pin positive. If it won't damage it than I'll just try it with the included cable, and if it works I'll order a custom length cable from you guys(pp on the shelf, 3x8 mounted in the back of the rack).

May be a bit premature, you guys won't make/recommend cables longer than 3ft? Below is a pic with the shelf all the way out
