can an old pedal power 2 power a Line 6 M5 at all?

Post by yves.hertoghs » Wed Apr 08, 2020 8:51 am

Hi,

I did a pedalboard rebuild and have a pedal power 2 and a pedal power 2 plus underneath my board.
For some reason i seem to recall my old pedal power 2 could power the m5 on outputs 5 and 6 with a current doubler with the dips set away from normal. It seems to power on, but no sound is coming out.

So I guess my question is: is there really NO way to power an M5 from a Pedal Power Plus?

Thanks,

Yves

Indeed... not possible from the DC outputs. With the older Pedal Power 2 (not 2 Plus) outputs 5 and 6 do not have high current capacity in the 9V setting, thus, even used together with a current doubler adapter, they will not suffice to power the M5.

However, you can power it from the AC courtesy outlet with its adapter/wall-wart.

Cheers!
