Current Doubler Question

Post by pisarchuk » Thu Mar 21, 2019 11:08 pm

Because i am running a Big Sky and a DD-500 off a single PP2+
Big Sky Requirements : 9V 300mA
DD-500 Requirements : 9V 200mA

i am thinking to have a current doubler for lines 4 and 5 going into the Big Sky and 6 going into the DD-500, my concern is that everything i read says that for the Big Sky you have to use 5 and 6 and flip the DIP switches to ON. Why can't i combine 4 and 5 to get the amperage i need for the big sky and then have 6 cover the dd-500? does combining 4 and 5 change the voltage going to the big sky? i also read that current doubles will not change voltage, but then why is the recommendation to flip the DIP switches for 5 and 6 to 12V?

It's fine as you suggest (using 5 and 6 is not necessary... but would work fine too).

To power the Big Sky use a Current Doubler Adapter, part# PPAP in Pedal Power 2 Plus outputs 4 and 5 (or 6 and 7), DIP switches set normal and one of the all black (standard polarity) cables supplied.
