Re: I´ve got two GCX Switcher & Ground Control units...

Yes, when running two Ground Control Pro units together like this only the second one will receive phantom power, the first one must be powered using the supplied adapter.

Re: Old GCX audio switcher

All models of the GCX respond to MIDI the same way. The only major change to the GCX has been the way the front panel jacks work. An older GCX is labeled "Feedthru 1 and 2" where both of these inputs are buffered. Feedthu 1 will split to both rear panel jacks like the Guitar In on the current model ...

Re: Question about GCX buffered Gutiar In/Out...

The op-amp is located on the PRE/PWR board, directly behind the front panel jacks... you can't miss it. Older units may have the op-amp soldered directly to the board.

Re: Musicom EFX MKII and PP2P

“14.5V/12V (unregulated) at 50mA/200mA+” is expressing the expected voltage with a known current draw. An unregulated power supply has the voltage vary with the load while a regulated supply will keep the same voltage across a wide current range. In this case we are saying that a 50mA load will yiel...

Re: Question about GCX buffered Gutiar In/Out...

You can check that the buffer's op-amp is seated properly in its socket, or check for any loose connections on the front panel jacks. But basically it sounds as if you bought a broken GCX. A dead buffer is not at all a common occurrence, which is why we would rather just see it for ourselves… we can...

Re: GCX connection

Yes, you can route the buffer anywhere in the signal chain you wish. Show us some pictures when you get your rack all finished.

Re: Tap tempo?

You can use the Expression Pedal ports with switches but the switch is unlike any you are likely to find ready-made. If this is all really an attempt for quieter switching in an acoustic or extremely low level environment then the external switch probably will not be much help as it would currently ...

Re: Using Pedal Switcher or GCX as an A/B switch

This can be done, however as the Return jack is Ground Lifted you will have to somehow re-establish the ground connection. This can be done inside the switcher or by connecting the sleeves of the two incoming instrument cables together.

Re: ground control pro and peavey transfex pro

The Ground Control Pro can control up to 8 MIDI devices (processors, MIDI amps, etc...) as well as up to 4 GCX switchers. The MIDI connections are done in series. In your case the MIDI connections would be: The MIDI Out of the Ground Control Pro connects to the Pedal In of first GCX. The MIDI out of...
