Re: GCX System with OD pedals

The loops on the GCX are all independent from each other so its no problem to have any combination of them in front of an amp vs in the FX loop of the amp. Here is a diagram of a very similar setup. http://www.voodoolab.com/gcxdiagrams/01-Pedals_FXloop_AmpSw.pdf In this diagram Loops 1-4 are routed ...

Re: Pedal Power X4 Linear or switching ?

Linear or Switching? ...well, its a Hybrid ;) The DC transformer generates DC directly rather than pulses from typical SMPS. This allows filtering noise to much lower levels. It’s followed by multiple poles of analog filters and linear regulation. Expensive filter components like high density cerami...

Re: GCX GCP Signal chain

If you are routing the volume pedal up front like that you would want a High Impedance type pedal, so like 250k or more. In a guitar rig it is quite normal for a passive volume pedal to roll off some of the high end when routed up front like that so this may just be what you are experiencing. The vo...

Re: IEC plug fuse query

For the Pedal Power units, I'm not so sure it matters since it is such a low current device when we are looking at it's consumption at Mains Voltage. However, the IEC power cable we ship with units destined for UK will have a 10A fuse in the plug.

I hope that helps!

Re: Correct Pedalboard for Voodoo Lab PX-8 Plus

Sorry for the late reply here! You would want the Dingbat PX, but without the Switcher factory mounted. This is certainly available, but not normally stocked at most Voodoo Lab dealers so you won't likely see it listed on their website. Any Voodoo Lab dealer should be able to special order it for yo...

Re: Problem with PX8+ and MIDI

The PX-8 Plus will send a unique Program Change with each preset on MIDI Channel 1. You will want to be sure all connected MIDI devices are in fact set to respond using MIDI Channel 1. The preset programming isn't necessarily explained since it will largely be done on your connected devices and they...

Re: PX8 Plus & MIDI

Sorry for the delayed reply! It isn't typically necessary to need a MIDI splitter to run multiple MIDI devices. You could easily run these chained in series via MIDI. The only thing is to be sure to set the MIDI Out of your effects to act as a MIDI Thru, before connecting it to the MIDI In of the ne...

Re: New Analog Chorus Model In Future

It's the underlying technology that forced this. At the heart of an Analog Chorus (and many analog delays) was a chip commonly called a Bucket Brigade, so named in reference to a method of putting out fires. At is very basic description a Bucket Brigade chip is effectively a large number of capacito...

Re: PX8 Plus loop "insert"

So if I understand this correctly.... You can plug distortion/fuz pedals into 7 and 8. channel 6 is used to split and go to amp and effects loop. Then modulation/effect pedals are 1-5. This splits the PX8 for use with effects loop? What if you have 4 different fuzz/distortion/tube screamer type ped...

Re: px8 plus using amp fx loop and midi question

Wow, sorry for the delayed reply! The PX-8 Plus will send a Program Change with each preset. You would program each connected MIDI device to do what you want them to do whenever they see this Program Change message. In this way you should also be able to get away with running a ninth pedal outside o...
