GCX Integration - NEWBIE ALERT!!!!!

Ok, so in another thread I discussed the stereo mod of the GCX, and it looks like I'll probably get that done at some point in the not too distant future. I'm now ready to "build the rig" into the rack case. I'm not totally clear on the best way of integrating the GCX. My current rig in the rack cas...

Re: A better understanding of stereo!!!

great stuff.... fully understood. makes you wonder why they don't install stereo boards from the outset. would stop a lot of issues dead. i have to say that about 3 years ago before i got the GCX i was considering buying a CAE audio switcher and even those are not stereo by default... you have to sp...

Re: A better understanding of stereo!!!

So let me get this straight... In laymans terms. Lets say I send the GCX for modification and I get loops 5 thru 8 converted to stereo. Once that's been done I can then (using insert cables) connect my G-Major to the GCX in loop 8 for example, then connect another TRS insert cable to the audio out o...

Re: 2 GCP's?

I've often wondered why there wasn't the ability of adding an expansion board to the GCP. Most of the high end midi controllers out there have this facility, from the CAE and the Skrydstrup boards... Was it not considered, or was it considered and thought too expensive or not cost effective. I know ...

Re: A better understanding of stereo!!!

Blimey! Many many thanks for your explanation. I was correct on a couple of things re the insert cables etc. It is a lot to take in and I need to read it and re-read it to fully understand it all. I've always been a bit against using fx loops in equipment, probably because I've always been led to be...

A better understanding of stereo!!!

This post will probably be answered by Voodoo lab guru John Clark, so.... John, following on from my previous posts in another thread regarding using the GCX as a switcher for stereo fx, I would like more clarification to a few more questions I have before taking the plunge and sending my GCX to Voo...

Re: wiring a rack for 2 gcx switchers

Probably easier of I tell you what I want to wire up. The rig as it stands is as follows, from the top of the rack: Furman Power Conditioner Radio Reciever guitar cable - Ernie Ball vol - Dunlop Wah - Guitar cable then into - Korg DTR1 Tuner Marshall JMP1 Midi Pre-Amp TC Electronic G Major Marshall ...
