Re: Powering 2 pedal switchers

While I'm on the subject, are the grounds common for all the pedal switcher loops? I.e. Does the signal ground in the pedal switcher connect all the jack screens together? So if I have a pedal in a big loop and that runs near a noisy mag source can I get a hum from the ground going out and through t...

Powering 2 pedal switchers

Hello! If I have 2 pedal switchers can I run them of the same 9v AC supply? Or will I get a ground loop? If not then could I run them off 2 isolated 12V DC outputs of one of the pedal powers or something similar with isolated dc outputs, since the bridge rectifiers will just pass the DC one directio...

Re: Any way of running 8 patches with 4 CCs on GCP?

I ended up rearranging my pedals anyway, so I really only needed a tap tempo, and so having loads of toggle buttons was pointless. I came up with a solution though: I've kept 10 presets per bank, but plugged my old Marshall footswitch in the CC pedal jack. Programmed that as whatever CC I want and n...

Any way of running 8 patches with 4 CCs on GCP?

Hello! I currently have a GC, and was pondering upgrading to the GCP. It seems it'll do 10 patch presets or 4 presets with 8 CC toggles. Any way to make it do 8 patches with 4 CCs? I could really do with a tap tempo and couple of FX on off, but there's no way I need 8, and certainly not at the expen...

Re: Phantom Powering Pedal Switcher + GC?

Yes, it is an isolated PSU for the wah. Some wahs (inductors?) don't like being near the mag field of a PSU though. :( This has developed a lot further since. The answer is yes, you can mod the Pedal switcher to be phantom powered from 12VDC but since the pedal switcher doesn't have a transformer is...

Re: Phantom Powering Pedal Switcher + GC?

P.s. The Diezel Herbert manual says the maximum power of the pedal connected to the midi in port cannot exceed 800 mA and the PSU for the pedal switcher (which also phantom powers the GC) is rated at 500 mA output so the Herbie can at least source enough current.

Re: Phantom Powering Pedal Switcher + GC?

I gave up and figured I'd use the supplied psu. Only problem is it makes my wah pedal hum loads when mounted nearby to it on the pedalboard. Obviously it's far less ideal and a lot messier having it further away from the pedalboard, but even a foot and a half away it's still making noticeable hum wi...

Phantom Powering Pedal Switcher + GC?

Hello Folks! I was considering buying a VL Pedal Switcher to control my floor pedals. I currently have an old Ground Control (not pro) which I recently got updated to v2.5. From what I gather one button on the GC (or a GCP) will channel switch my MIDI amp, my MIDI rack Fx + whichever combination of ...

PSU for GC v1.00?

Hello! I have an old GC (un-pro) v1.00 from '91 that's been collecting dust in my attic, and I was thinking of using it to control Ableton Live. However, last few times I've been using it I ran it off phantom power from my amp, but now can't from my MIDI interface (no phantom), and I don't have a 9v...
