Re: Newbie building a Rack

I believe your diagram setup would be great. Right on! For heat concerns you could leave a blank space above the worst offenders... the preamps and the power amp. The 2:90 does have a fan in it so you'll want to be sure that is as clear as possible (ie. not a bunch of cables tucked in front of the f...

Re: Gcx, GCP and triaxis using both outputs

Oh sorry, yes you can absolutely still use the GCX for other effects even if you don't use it for the G-Major 2. You can route any number of GCX loops to the front of your Triaxis, so far you've mentioned 2 pedals and that you want to add more so lest say four loops for now... your front end effects...

Re: PX8 Plus and L6 HX Stomp

According to what I see in the HX Stomp manual it looks like Program Changes can only recall HX Stomp Presets. Snapshots require MIDI Control Change messages and the PX-8 Plus does not have any provision to send Control Changes.

I hope that helps!

Re: PX8 Plus loop "insert"

Good evening, I am new to the forum. I purchased a dingbat with the PX8 and mondo and spent a great deal of time getting it all connected and up and running. It is vital that I am able to create presets and patches that I can switch between quickly. I really only have two issues right now. The firs...

Re: Gcx, GCP and triaxis using both outputs

For the two preamp outputs, you would use two GCX Loops... but more likely would be that you would just skip the GCX completely for this part of the rig and wire the G-Major 2 directly in between the preamp and power amp as you have been doing.

I hope that helps!

Re: midi "Multi"

The MULTI jack is not MIDI it just uses the same 5 Pin DIN jack type. The MULTI jack is the four make-or-break switches referenced to a common ground for use with a cable (usually custom made) that interfaces to an amplifier's footswitch jack when the individual 1/4" jacks cannot be used. We can mak...

Re: GCX System with OD pedals

The loops on the GCX are all independent from each other so its no problem to have any combination of them in front of an amp vs in the FX loop of the amp. Here is a diagram of a very similar setup. http://www.voodoolab.com/gcxdiagrams/01-Pedals_FXloop_AmpSw.pdf In this diagram Loops 1-4 are routed ...

Re: Pedal Power X4 Linear or switching ?

Linear or Switching? ...well, its a Hybrid ;) The DC transformer generates DC directly rather than pulses from typical SMPS. This allows filtering noise to much lower levels. It’s followed by multiple poles of analog filters and linear regulation. Expensive filter components like high density cerami...

Re: GCX GCP Signal chain

If you are routing the volume pedal up front like that you would want a High Impedance type pedal, so like 250k or more. In a guitar rig it is quite normal for a passive volume pedal to roll off some of the high end when routed up front like that so this may just be what you are experiencing. The vo...

Re: IEC plug fuse query

For the Pedal Power units, I'm not so sure it matters since it is such a low current device when we are looking at it's consumption at Mains Voltage. However, the IEC power cable we ship with units destined for UK will have a 10A fuse in the plug.

I hope that helps!
