Re: Px-8 Plus and Multiple Midi Pedals

The PX-8 Plus will send a single MIDI Program Change message on MIDI Channel 1 with each PX-8 Plus preset. You would edit your MIDI devices to make the sound you want them to make whenever this message is received. For instance, in Bank 1, Preset 1 will send Program Change 01, and Preset 2 will send...

Re: Line 6 HD500 + MESA Dual Rectifier + Control Switcher

Hi...I have a Maxon OD808 pedal I'd like to use with the amp that I will soon be purchasing and ideally I'd like to only have to step on one of the POD's footswitches to change from say a ultra clean tone to a high gain tone. So I believe there is a device that allows you to hook up a pedal to a mi...

Re: GCP -> GCX & Midi

Eish, I glossed over that the effects boards will also sometimes act as if they were the preamp section... oops! I was thinking only of the amplifiers' preamp sections, and treating the boards as having front end and loop effects only. In general, you want to avoid using a Y Cable to combine two sig...

Re: Just bought PX-8 Plus w/o Dingbat -- to Dingbat or no?

We do make available the PX Medium Dingbat without the switcher. It is unlikely to find it stocked, but any Voodoo Lab dealer can order one for you in that configuration. Feel free to give us a call or write to info@voodoolab.com and we can get you sorted out!

Re: GCP -> GCX & Midi

Sharing the effects devices between two amp FX Loops would require at least four unused loops, an A/B to select which FX Send is live, active/bypass for post effects #1, active/bypass for post effects #2, and another A/B to select which power amp section is live... but this eliminates the possibilit...

Re: GCP -> GCX & Midi

Yea, the first thing to know is if you get sound to either amp with only Loop 7 OR Loop 8 active... no other Loops Active. Right now your setup has Loops 4-6 with nothing in them so activating any of these loops will certainly mute the signal. Also, for the amp switching to work like you originally ...

Re: GCP -> GCX & Midi

Adding the effects boards would be like adding any single effects box in that you will use a GCX Loop for each device you want to switch in and out of the signal path. So adding the GT-100 and HeadRush will require two unused GCX Loops. I'll make my example using GCX Loops 5 and 6 for the effects, b...

Re: GCX DC Power Consumption

That shouldn't be a problem at all. Only the first GCX will be sharing the power via Phantom Power... the other two won't use the powered pins on the MIDI connections.

Re: GCP -> GCX & Midi

The Ground Control Pro will itself control up to eight MIDI Devices (your Boss GT-100 and HeadRush count as two) and up to four GCX switchers at once. The button layout you are using gives you eight Instant Access buttons (these default as controlling GCX #1 Loops 1-8) and four Preset Buttons. There...

Re: GCX DC Power Consumption

I'm not sure I've measured for exact but I'd still stick with the safe minimum of 400mA for a GCX. If providing Phantom Power to a Ground Control Pro I'd say the 800mA is the safe bet. The important thing is that from a DC source the GCX must see 12VDC... at 9VDC the relays will not always trigger :...
